this is life through my eyes, in a nutshell.
The Swing Chair (2012) by Antonio Aricò
Materials: wood, rope
Dimensions: W42cm • H70cmThe Swing Chair comes from Antonio Aricò’s research on characters and personalities that are generally hidden in products. The Swing Chair brings a romantic situation – an outdoor feeling of rocking and swinging – indoors. Being inside, the Swing Chair becomes a domestic ‘puppet’. A living marionette with its own presence and character. More than a flying chair, it’s an invitation to dream and play, but also a sweet metaphor. Like Gepetto did for Pinocchio, Antonio gave life to his idea and concept with the use of the ropes. The arms of the graceful Swing Chair are strong and literally adopt the position of a real human with presence and character. Smoothly, the chair copies your movements or character and can take either a sober or a fun posture. The Swing Chair comes in two different shapes.
